July 9, 2018

MINNEAPOLIS – July 9, 2018 – MENTOR Minnesota (MMN) is excited to welcome Jess Anna Glover as our new Executive Director effective July 9, 2018.

Most recently, Jess Anna has spent more than a decade as a passionate advocate for student-focused public education policy and educators as an attorney. Throughout her career, she has also worked with minority and immigrant farmers, advocates and organizers, lawyers, and legislators on many public policy issues. She brings previous nonprofit, fundraising, and government experience, too. Jess Anna is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Minnesota Law School and was a Policy Fellow with the Humphrey School of Public Affairs.

Jess Anna points to her work around trauma and adverse childhood experiences that led her to become such a passionate advocate for youth development.

“The way to build resilience against the traumas that kids face is through relationships with caring adults. That is mentoring, in all of its forms, whether in workforce development, trauma-informed education, supporting student attendance at school, or as a component in juvenile justice. Those relationships change lives and communities, it changed mine. Mentoring is a critical youth development strategy. Look for me to raise the awareness and connectivity of programs throughout Minnesota.” – Jess Anna Glover

According to Bev Lohs, Chair of the MENTOR Minnesota Board of Directors, no one is more suited for the position and the challenges ahead. “Bringing on Jess Anna’s talent and compassion is not only a win for the organization, but also a win for the community,” Lohs stated.

Please join us in welcoming Jess Anna to MENTOR Minnesota!
