Free Screening of Waiting for “Superman”

January 18, 2011

The Emmet County Mentoring Program has arranged a free screening of the award-winning film Waiting for “Superman” for all school administrators and mentoring programs.  The free showing will take place at 1:00pm on January 21 at Grand 3 Theatres in Estherville, Iowa, just south of the Minnesota border.  Please RSVP to Emmet County Kinship Director Diane Nicol. If you are unable to make it to the screening, the film will be playing in Estherville January 21-27 for $4 per adult.

Waiting for “Superman” is a documentary film that highlights problems with the American public education system, and it proposes mentoring as one part of a possible solution.  Since the film was released back in September, this may be your last chance to see the film in theaters – don’t miss out!

The film is a perfect tie-in to National Mentoring Month, as this year’s theme is focused on the link between mentoring and education.
